The Office of Education Innovation is a charter school authorizer responsible for evaluating and supporting academics, finances, and operations of mayor-sponsored public charter schools that educate about 18,000 students in Indianapolis. Their staff also closely reviews charter school proposals to ensure high-quality, accessible and quality plans.

Final charter decisions are made by the Indianapolis Charter School Board, and renewal decisions made by the OEI.
