This is a remote assignment. The Forest Preserves Department of Cook County has scheduled the following back-to-back meetings on Tuesday, July 27.
Though the meetings are all scheduled for the same time, in reality the board, which is composed of the Cook County Board of Commissioners, will go through each committee meeting one at a time. If there is a break between meetings you will be paid for this time as well.
- 9:30 a.m. Finance Committee
- 9:30 a.m. Workers’ Compensation
- 9:30 a.m. Real Estate Committee
- 9:30 a.m. Rules Committee
- 10 a.m. FPD Board of Commissioners
- 2 p.m. Legislation and Intergovernmental Relations Committee
Note: Sometimes the meeting schedule changes so it’s a good idea to double check the schedule the morning of at https://fpdcc.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx.
You can watch the meetings live-stream at https://www.cookcountyil.gov/service/watch-live-board-proceedings. We do not expect you to prepare in-depth for each meeting but it is a good idea to be familiar with each committee’s responsibilities and 1-2 key agenda items.

The Forest Preserves District acquires, restores, restocks and manages lands for the purpose of protecting and preserving natural communities including, prairies, forests, wetlands, rivers, streams, and all their associated flora and fauna for the purpose of providing educational, leisure and outdoor recreation opportunities for Cook County residents now and in the future.
